Legislative Branch
Student Senate:  Applications available in early September.
The Senate is the legislative branch of the Associated Student Body. The Senate consists of Senators from various districts both on- and off-campus, and it has the authority to introduce and pass legislation governing all aspects of ASB. Within the Senate, Senatorial Committees are formed. Each committee holds regular meetings in order to discuss bills coming to the Senate floor. They will also meet to discuss problems in the areas that they oversee and formulate solutions through bills and resolutions.

Executive Council:  Applications available following the ASB Spring Elections.
Each spring, the newly elected ASB Vice President appoints a nine member council to serve as a liaison between the Administration and the President of the Campus Senate. The council meets regularly to discuss upcoming senate legislation for each Campus Senate meeting. The council consists of :

  • Two (2) Legislation Monitors
  • Parliamentarian of the Senate
  • Director of Public Relations
  • Director of Senate Committees
  • Campus Liaison
  • Sergeant at Arms
  • Two (2) Executive Assistants

Executive Branch
Cabinet:  Applications available following the ASB Spring Elections.
The Presidential Cabinet is composed of directors representing various aspects of student life.  The directors serve as a direct link between the students and the ASB President.Each director works to improve the ASB in his/her respective area.
The Cabinet is composed of the following positions:

Director of Academic Affairs
Director of Communications
Director of Community Service
Director of Diversity Affairs
Director of External Affairs
Director of First-Year Experience
Co-Director of Student Involvement (2)
Co-Director of Student Services (2)
Executive Liaison
Executive Assistants (3)

Cabinet Committees: Applications available following the ASB Spring Elections.
A majority of the positions on the Presidential Cabinet have committees. The committees work directly with the director to express new ideas, implement programs, and assist the director in goals and tasks for the department for the year.

Department of Justice
Deputy Attorney General:  Applications available following the ASB Spring Elections.
The Deputy Attorney Generals (2) serve as the chief assistants to the Attorney General, and assist him/her with all matters of the ASB Code.

Elections Commission:  Applications available following the ASB Spring Elections.
The Elections Commissions works to ensure an orderly election process during the fall and spring.  The Commission is responsible for the running of the online voting system and announcing election results to the student body.  The Elections Commission is composed of two (2) Elections Commissioners and the Elections Commission.

Judicial Branch
University Judicial Council:  Applications available following the ASB Spring Elections.
The University Judicial Council is the highest tribunal at Ole Miss. This council consists of one (1) judicial chairman, a co-chairman chosen by the chairman and nine (9) associate members. The council decides all matters related to the interpretation of the M-Book and any student reviews placed through the University Police Department.

ASB Judicial Council:  Applications available following the ASB Spring Elections.
The ASB Judicial Council consists of the judicial chairman and eight (8) associate members. They have jurisdiction over the ASB Constitution, all ASB elections, and any laws passed by the ASB Campus Senate.

Traffic Appeals Board:  Applications available following the ASB Spring Elections.
The Traffic Appeals Board consists of  one (1) student chair, one (1) secretary chosen by the chair, and six (6) associate members. The board has final jurisdiction on all cases of student review regarding traffic violations on campus. They are appointed by the president and serve for one year.
